Dollar Climbs Ahead Of U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims Data

The Labor Department is scheduled to release its jobless claims report for the week ended December 26th at 8:30 am ET Thursday. Economists expect claims to have increased to 270,000 from 267,000 in the previous week.

Ahead of the data, the greenback showed mixed trading against its major rivals.
While the greenback held steady against the pound, it advanced against the rest of major rivals.

The greenback was worth 1.0884 against the euro, 120.40 against the yen, 0.9957 against the franc and 1.4843 against the pound as of 8:25 am ET.
