Marking the centennial anniversary of Balfour Declaration, Palestinian Authority (PA) Education Minister Sabri Saidam yesterday reiterated that the department rejects all forms of obliteration and oppression being practiced against Palestinians and renewed its support for the campaign “Yes to the declaration, not to the promise”.
In a press conference to announce the launch of a series of activities in rejection of the Balfour Declaration, Saidam announced that Palestinian secondary students would write 100,000 letters in different languages to be sent to UK Prime Minister Theresa May.
These letters, he said, include one message, “Stop your oppression” represented in the British support for the Balfour Declaration and its consequences, which is the creation of the Israeli state at the expense of the Palestinian people.
According to Saidam, the letters are to be handed over to the British consulate in Jerusalem tomorrow.
