Round-the-world Solar Plane Restarts; Passes ‘point Of No Return’ Over Pacific

After waiting for nearly two months for a clear weather window, a Swiss long-range solar-powered plane has resumed its record-breaking journey across the Pacific Ocean. Already behind schedule in an endeavor to fly around the world in five months to encourage the use of clean technologies, the so-called Solar Impulse-2 attempts the eighth and longest leg of the mission, between Japan and Hawaii.
